My Monthly Favourites - July 2020 | Lifestyle | The Fab Flip

Monthly Favourites | July 2020 | Favorite Beauty Products | Skincare Favorites | Lifestyle | Haircare Favorites | Favorite Food and Movies

Hey Guys!

I have been thinking about posting this content last month, but then I thought I should do this after I use a few other new products that I purchased in July so that I can also include some of them in case they work well on me.

So today I will be sharing my July favorites. This would include anything right from makeup, skincare to foods, or movies. All the products which I am mentioning are used by me regularly for the past month or before. They have really shown me great results and that’s the reason I thought of sharing them with you.

So without any further ado let’s get started.

Makeup Favorites

I am not someone who purchases too many makeup products regularly but I definitely purchase the most essential ones that are about to finish. Sometimes, I also love to try out highly reviewed new products.

Now as I have started shooting my makeup videos for IGTV I wanted to try out some new products along with my existing ones. Hence, I ended up buying a few of them. Out of those I have found my current absolute favorites which gave me stunning results than I expected.

1) Kay Beauty Eye Pencil -

I am a huge fan of eye pencils. Literally used almost all drugstore and high-end brands but haven’t ever tried the Kay beauty eye pencil. Really wanted to give it a shot as I had heard very good comments for the same. So, it’s obvious I had to order it and OMG.. the pencil is too good. It is super soft, has a very good formula, and is completely smudge-proof. I am literally loving this product.

The MRP might seem to be a bit expensive but it’s worth every penny. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good kajal.

2) Maybelline New York Fit me Loose Finishing Powder -

Next is a very much hyped product. It’s the Maybelline Fit Me loose powder. Now if you have very oily skin and prefer to have a matte finished look after applying foundation, then this one's for you. It gives a very flawless matte finish to your entire face and can also be used to set your under-eyes. It blends so well and the best part that surprised me was your pores just become invisible.

This is what made this product come to my favorite list as you can minimize your pores even without a primer. Isn’t that a steal?? Do try out girls, you are gonna love it !!

3) Maybelline New York Super Stay Foundation -

When it comes to foundations you get a huge range of products both online and offline. My all-time favorite is MAC foundation which retails for 2700 and frankly speaking seeing it finish off gives you a heartbreak. That’s why I really wanted to purchase a drugstore one which I can use on a regular basis and can provide full coverage without making a hole in my pocket.

And ladies... Yes, I have found it! The Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Foundation is the best drug store product that can give you complete coverage with a slightly matte finish. Though this foundation claims to be best for oily skin people but trusts me it can go with all skin types.

The formula and consistency are lightweight and super long-lasting. Another good thing is that it has a good range of shades to suit all skin tones.

Skincare Favorites

Skincare is very important to keep your skin healthy, glowing, and radiant. I had acne issues before and I still get 1-2 pimples on my face. To keep them controlled and to remove my acne scars I make sure that I follow a good skincare regime. For that, I purchased a few products and out of these the following 4 really showed me amazing results.

1) Neem Powder -

This is something which I’ve been using since 1 year and trust me guys, it really helped me fight my acne issues. Neem powder is very commonly available and I went for the Indus valley brand as it had good reviews and ratings on Amazon.

It’s not too harsh on your skin and neither dries out your skin completely. And that’s the best part of this brand. This was my 2nd or 3rd purchase I think but yeah very satisfied with this product.

If you have acne issues using a neem powder face pack can really help in getting rid of those. So do give it a shot.

2) Mamaearth Skin Plump Serum-

I have already shared my experience with Mama. If you haven’t read it click here to check it out. I was eyeing on their other serum for quite a long and finally decided to purchase and try it out.

I should say this, Mamaearth serums are really good. Its formula is so good that it just melts into our skin and gives an instant glow. All you need to do is to apply it overnight and once you wake up you will notice how soft and plump your skin has become.

I use this with the vitamin C serum by Mamaearth and together they have done wonders on my skin. Really loved the serum and would definitely repurchase it.

Haircare Favorites

I had very thick, long, and healthy hair until I passed out of college. After that, I started facing hair fall issues, dandruff issues, and whatnot. And whom should I blame for this - my own unhealthy lifestyle routines and improper hair care. But now I really take my time to care for my locks. I do try new products on my hair and here are my new favorites!

1) Bhringraj Biotique Hair Oil -

I always use homemade onion oil or the fenugreek and kalonji oil for my hair and scalp. It’s really good to prevent dandruff and hair fall. I have already posted an article on how to prepare them at home. Do check that out.

So coming back, though these oils were great for my hair the only thing I was concerned about was its thickness. They have heavy consistency and hence even after using shampoo, my hair used to be a bit oily.

Now that we are all at home this doesn’t matter but I still wanted a hair oil that is lightweight and can be applied on any special occasions where my hair wouldn’t feel oily at all after washing. That's when after doing lots of research, I ended up buying the Biotic Bhringraj Hair Oil.

This is a very lightweight oil yet deeply nourishes your scalp and hair. I really loved its consistency and fragrance. It worked pretty well for me and didn't result in hair fall. Also, I use this once a week but still felt that it reduced my hair fall to some extent.

If you are looking for a mild fragrance lightweight oil for your hair, in your budget, then this can be the one.

2) Pantene Advanced Hair Fall Solution Shampoo -

Most of us prefer to use sulfate, paraben-free shampoos that don't cause much damage to your hair. Even I use Mamaearth or WOW shampoo and conditioner to protect my hair from further damage.

But whenever I face dandruff issues I always wash my hair with shampoos that contain some chemical formulas. This is my personal opinion because when I use such products, my dandruff completely vanishes within 2-3 usage. Hence I always stock up one bottle of shampoo which is not paraben or sulfate-free.

The first brand of shampoo that I had used was Pantene. Then I gradually switched to different products. But recently I can across their new launch The Pantene Advanced Hair Fall Solution Total Damage Care Shampoo.

This shampoo really reduced my dandruff in just 2 uses and also my hair felt so soft and silky. I wouldn’t encourage you to use it daily but yeah once in a week can be really good. In case you have a severe dandruff issue then you use it twice a week at first and then gradually decrease the count.

Another best part is that only a coin-sized product is enough for your whole hair and scalp. It lathers pretty well and also doesn’t dry out your scalp unless overdone.

Even though I used this just 4-5 times in a month, the results that I achieved made me put this one in my favorite list.

Favorite Movies or Series

Last month I couldn't engage myself in too many movies. But still out of the few which I watched here are my favorites.

1) Sufiyum Sujathayum -

When I saw the trailer of Sufiyum Sujathayum I was shocked to see my senior Dev Mohan acting as Sufi and then came to know that It was his debut movie. I always love romantic films and getting to see someone whom I know acting in a lead role made me super thrilled.

This is more like a musical drama that has great cinematography and visuals. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the movie and of course the adorable pair of Sufi and Sujatha. Really proud to see Dev Mohan acting so well in this film. Alo the VFX of this movie was fully done by my two batch mates.

Do watch this if you really like watching simple romantic love stories. It's streaming on Amazon Prime.

2) Ponmagalvanthal -

A really good suspense thriller investigation movie. Jyothika is in the leading role and the storyline and direction is just amazing. I loved this movie and especially the climax. Really a must-watch movie.
