Mamaearth is one of my favorite brands as it has really given me some effective results. They are plastic positive brands and that’s something which always attracts me. I have been obsessed with their vitamin C Skin illuminating serum ( whose review I have already posted on my website) and neem face mask.
Few months before they launched their new vitamin C range of skincare products and the moment I saw it I was super excited to try them out. Since I was running out of my neem face mask I thought of trying out the new Vitamin C face mask from their range. And guys, the results it gave me were really unexpected !!
So today I will be sharing my experience on using the Mamaearth vitamin C face mask so that it will help you in deciding whether to purchase it or not. So without any further ado let’s get into the review.
What Mamaearth Vitamin C Face Mask claims?
The Mamaearth Vitamin C face mask claims to bring back your skin’s lost radiance due to dirt, pollution, UV rays, and extreme weather conditions.
The goodness of Vitamin C and Kaolin Clay will make your skin bright, healthy, and spotless. It’s dermatologically tested and is suitable for all skin types. It does not contain Parabens, harmful chemicals, toxins, or mineral oils and is 100% safe to add to your skincare regimen.
Benefits and features -
It claims to provide you with the following benefits -
Even skin tone
Radiant and glowing skin
Reduces pigmentation and dark spots on your skin
Made with natural ingredients
Free from Sulfates, Parabens, SLS, Petroleum, Artificial Preservatives, & Colors.
Firms and brightens the skin
Suitable for all skin types
Ingredients :
This mask is mainly made up of Vitamin C and kaolin clay which removing tanned skin, dark spots, tightens your face, reverses the signs of aging, removes dead skin cells, and also provides an even skin tone.

In addition to this, it also consists of glycerine that provides moisturization, turmeric that has anti-inflammatory properties and thus protects the skin from any damage. It also contains Aloe Vera Extract, Glycolic Acid, Mulberry Extract, Citric Acid, and many more active ingredients that help in providing a radiant and healthy-looking skin.
The complete list of ingredients is mentioned in the packaging so you can definitely check that out.
Packaging :
It comes in a decent white colored plastic tub with a twist and open lid. It has a stopper in between the mask and the cap that keeps the mask quite secure. It also seems to be quite a big tub but however consists of the only 100g of product in it.

It also has an applicator or cosmetic spatula that can be used for applying the mask. The packaging is quite sturdy and is even an airtight container so pretty easy to travel with.
Now though it’s made up of plastic it’s okay for Mamaearth as they are one of the few plastic positive brands in India that recycle more plastic than it ever uses.
Texture and Consistency :
The mask comes in an off white color and has a creamy smooth texture that easily glides on to the skin. A small amount is more than enough to cover your whole face.

Hence it shall last for a pretty long time. It also dries up quickly and makes your skin feel a bit tight and firm.
Fragrance :
The Mamaearth Vitamin C face mask has a very mild and pleasant fragrance when compared to it’s few other products like the neem face mask. This makes it quite suitable for all especially for the ones who cannot tolerate heavy scents.
How To Use It?
Using this face mask is very much the same as any other masks that you would have used.

First, cleanse the face with a mild sulfate-free face wash and then pat dry using a towel. Now apply a generous amount of the mask all over your face and neck and let it sit for 15 minutes.
After 15 min wash it off with lukewarm water and follow up with your skincare serum or moisturizer.
If you like exfoliating your face then do it before applying the mask.
How Often Should You Use It?
Use it twice a week for best results.
Who All Can Use It?
It can be used both by men and women and also claims to be suitable for all skin types.
My Experience with Mamaearth Vitamin C Face Mask -
Most Mamaearth products that I used before had really shown me some amazing results. But this one was a total disappointment !!

When mama earth had launched their vitamin C range products I was super excited to try them out as their vitamin C skin illuminating serum was the best of all I had tried so far. Without even waiting for any discounts or offers, I went and purchased it as I was quite impressed by the reviews and was very sure that it would definitely work for me.
Whenever I am using any new product I prefer indulging it in my night time routine as it allows the product to show it’s actual results by the next morning. So, after cleansing and exfoliating my face, I applied it all over my face and neck evenly. I felt a very cooling and soothing sensation right after applying and was super excited to see the results.
It dried up quickly and after 15 minutes when I washed my face my skin felt soft, supple, radiant, and hydrated. But after a few minutes, I started feeling some tingling sensation on my jawline where I usually get acne issues. Within half an hour I felt like itching my jawline so much that I frequently splashed some water to reduce that sensation. I was sure that the mask didn’t work for me.

But the worst thing that happened was that it gave me 4-5 painful pimples the very next morning. I mean seriously??? I was so pissed off that I had no idea what to do.
I stopped using it right away and gave my skin some time to heal. But after 2-3 weeks I felt like giving it one more shot as I did not want to form an opinion just by one usage but unluckily ended up facing these same issues.
I must say that this product was a total regret for me. I spent a full amount on this and couldn’t do anything out of it. That really hurts, trust me. I would definitely not recommend this to people with oily, acne-prone, or sensitive skin as it might not give you the desired results for the amount you spend.
Dry skin people can give it a shot as it provides good hydration and also makes your skin soft and radiant.
Pros of Mamaearth Vitamin C Face Mask -
Paraben and silicone-free
Good, sturdy, and travel-friendly packaging
Can be used by both men and women
Slightly affordable when bought during offers.
Good for dry skin people.
Cons of Mamaearth Vitamin C Face Mask -
Not at all suitable for oily, acne-prone, or sensitive skin.
Causes itchiness after using it.
Does not show all the results as it claims to.
Not worth the money spent
Causes breakouts.
Rating : 1.8 / 5
Where to purchase?
It retails for MRP -> 499 INR and cannot be bought online. You can either purchase it from -
Amazon -> Mamaearth Vitamin C Face Mask ( now available at 10% off)
Mamaearth Website -> Mamaearth Vitamin C Face Mask
Final Verdict :
If this product claims to suit all skin types then it’s a total bluff !! It not only showed any results but also gave me severe breakouts. Hence, I request people with oily and acne-prone skin to please stay away from it as you might have the same experience as I had.
However dry skin people can surely give it a try. But in the end, I’d like to put up a disclaimer that what does not work for me, might work for you. Mamaearth as a brand is actually good but yeah it’s not necessary for every product to show perfect results on you without any flaws.
I hope not to have such experiences in the future!
