Choose the one that suits your personality and complexion and let’s start styling it.

I will be mentioning the products that I used to get this look and also it’s purchased links so that in case you love the way I styled it you can go and get one too!

6 Styling Tips To Get A Stylish Chic Look -

Before jumping to the tips just wanted to give a small disclaimer. Whatever I am sharing, is my personal way of styling. Something which I have learned and tried out in my past few years. It’s just to share out my thoughts on styling and not to go against any fashion trends. If there are any flaws or mistakes, excuse me for that.

#Tip 1 : Choose the perfect outfit

You can choose any outfit, jeans, Kurtis, dresses, etc in which you think you can rock it out. Here I will be styling an A-line dress which is another very comfortable and go-to outfit. I personally love this dress as it makes you look stylish without exertion.

If you are planning to buy one or else want to choose from your closet then here are a few things you should keep in mind before finalizing the outfit.

1) Choose the Right color -

Opt for the color that suits and enhances your complexion. If you have fair skin then don’t mistake that you are free to choose any color. Whites and neon can really go wrong for you. Choose pastels, peach, or bold colors like navy, olive green, browns, etc which will enhance your complexion.

For medium to brown skin tone choose colors like sand, beige, and creams, as well as black and gray. Metallics like copper and gold and even neons will look amazing.

For darker skin tone go for whites, rusty red, emerald, shades of yellow, purple, etc.

2) Choose the right print -

When it comes to prints on dresses it’s a huge topic. I don’t want to go in-depth but yes here are a few tips who can utilize for styling. If you are short, fat or both then go for vertical stripes. Skinny people can choose horizontal stripes to put the illusion of having some weight. This will make you look taller and slim. If you are fond of floral prints then choose the ones which are smaller than your fist. Any larger should be left on the rack itself. While on the other hand, taller girls can go for large prints. But please don’t over go. Women with fuller figures need to be cautious while opting for large prints as they can make you look larger than you are.

#Tip 2 : Use a belt to compliment your outfit

No matter what, your wardrobe should have a good quality stylish belt that you can carry with any of your outfits. The usage of belts has really gone far ahead than imagined. While before we used it to hold up our pants, now it's used to flatter your figure, accentuate your dress, and many more.

Hence, it’s a must-have accessory. For styling your A-line dress you can choose a black or brown and thin or medium-sized belt as shown down below. Wear it slightly above your waist and see how it just transforms your whole look. Thin rope belts can also serve the purpose.

I didn't use a separate belt as this dress had it's own which I thought would work for me.

#Tip 3 : Go For White Pair for shoes/ sneakers

White sneakers are versatile. If you have a pair of white shoes then you can just rock most of your outfits. White shoes are like a cherry on top of a cake. It totally kicks off any style mix without sweating out.

And if you haven’t already got a pair, now’s the time.Every penny you invest would be worth it, trust me. I have worn White sneakers from Puma. You can choose any brand that’s in your budget!

White Sneakers -> Affordable white sneakers for all outfits

#Tip 4 : Accessorize Your Jewellery The Right Way

It’s now time to make use of all those overflowing or unused jewelry collections to compliment your sense of style, personality, and wardrobe.

Now, this is totally your personal choice. You can choose just some statement earrings, or else a necklace or both. Experiment with contrasting lengths, shapes, textures, and colors and see what works the best. Here are a few tips to style them -

  1. Earrings - They are usually the common focal point as it’s usually in the field of vision for anyone who is talking to you. Hence it’s important to choose and style the right one. They should frame our face and compliment your skin tone and hair color.

  2. Necklaces - If you want to draw attention to your face and neckline then wear some statement jewelry piece or layered necklaces of different length. Make sure that your neckpiece is subtle or not there if you are wearing a heavy pair of earrings.

  3. Bangles or Bracelets - Opt for the ones which blend with your earring or necklace both in color and style. You can also wear heavy statement bracelets or bangles and keep other jewelry minimal. It’s all up to you. If you are not into these things then just wear a watch that is quite stylish.

Just decide the focal point for your jewelry and you will be good to go. If in case you are still not confident enough to choose the right combination, keep it simple and elegant by just wearing a pair of elegant earrings. Tassel earrings will also look great on an A-line dress.

I have worn a pair of metal hoops with no other accessories.

Earrings -> Hoop earrings OR Stylish Tassel earrings

The necklace you can style -> Layered Neckpiece

Bracelets -> Cuff Bracelets

#Tip 5 : Carry the Right Bag

It's a very important step to choose the right bag according to your outfit. A wrong choice can completely destroy your whole look. If you are opting for multi-colored outfits then , better play with neutrals and single-color bags, such as beige, brown, or classic black. Leather also complements colored outfits.

The contrast-colored bag also goes well with any style. Just pick the right fit for you.

When you wear a full-length dress / Kurtis , sling bags looks the best. It instantly enhances your complete look. This is completely my perception. You are totally free to carry the one which you love. Last but not least do not overpack your bag that you're carrying. Keep it minimal.

My Bag -> Caprese Lucille Women's Sling Bag OR Classic Black Sling Bag

#Tip 6 : Hair and Makeup

Each individual has their own love and style for makeup and hair.

While doing makeup you should keep in mind to either highlight your lips or your eyes. Doing both is totally fine only if you know how to blend it which your whole look. Stay away from literally matching the elements of your makeup to your outfit.

And if you are someone who doesn't love doing too much makeup then that's totally fine. Just wear some mascara and nude lipstick. You are good to go!

I went for dark eyes with a rusty red eyeliner to pop up my eye look. I have applied my all-time favorite Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in the shade " Lover".

Eye pencil I'm wearing -> Faces Canada Magnet Eye Kajal

When it comes to hair, there is an N number of styles you can carry. But for an A-line dress, I personally prefer a messy bun, pulled up bun, or just open hairstyles. Up-do buns give you a classic chic look while open hair showcases a playful easy to go look.

I have posted pictures in both open and an up-do bun. You can style the way you love to do.
