This doesn't mean you need to switch all your skincare products to natural rather a homemade DIY face pack once or twice a week is more than enough to get that glowing and healthy skin.

Skin Types and Problems


Knowing your skin type is really important. Only then you will be able to treat it accordingly. You can know this simple by a basic skin test at home. Click here to know your skin type.


There are basically 4 skin types - Oily, Dry, Combination, and Normal Skin. Some people even have a very sensitive skin type which is more prone to breakouts, acne, and allergies.

Once you have identified your skin type, you then need to know your skin problems. Here are the most common skin related problems that most of you might have come across -

  • Acne

  • Breakouts/Pimples

  • Tanned Skin

  • Dry Flaky Skin

  • Dull unhealthy skin

  • Blackheads

  • Pigmentation


Natural Face Packs For Men


Men aren’t any different. They are actually very interested in having clear skin though they don’t show it openly. Most men have combination skin and may have acne or bumps on their face due to shaving. Their skin is totally different from that of a woman.



Hence, a proper skincare routine and shaving is necessary to get clear and healthy skin. In addition to that using a natural homemade pack once or twice a week can help the skin to rejuvenate and glow!


1) Oily / Sensitive skin -


Orange face packs can be the best solution for these problems. Orange juice/peel powder helps in reducing blackheads, pimples, dark circles, pigmentation, and dead skin cells. Combine it with some curd or honey to get the best results.



Ingredients-

  • 2 tsp of Orange peel powder or Orange Juice

  • 1 tbsp of curd

  • 2 tsp of honey

  • 1-2 drops of tea tree oil

How to prepare -

  1. For oily skin add 2 tsp of orange peel powder and 1 tbsp of curd with 1-2 drops of tea tree oil.

  2. Mix well And apply.

  3. Leave it for 15-20 mins and wash with normal water.

Note - For sensitive skin, you can use orange juice and honey mixed together with 1-2 drops of tea tree oil. Apply all over the face and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.


How often?

  • Once or twice a week for best results.


2) For Glowing skin -


Yogurt is a great ingredient to fade dark circles and blemishes. It also provides a natural glow to your face. It can also be used to soothe sunburns.



Ingredients -

  • 2 tsp yogurt

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp rice powder (optional)

How to prepare -

  1. Mix yogurt, and turmeric powder in a bowl. You can add 1 tsp rice powder to thicken the pack. This is totally optional.

  2. Now apply it all over the face and neck for a good 20 mins.

  3. Wash off with normal water.

How often?

  • Two times a week.


3) To Remove Skin Tan -


It has natural skin brightening enzymes which help to get rid of the tanned skin. On the other hand, tomatoes stimulate collagen production thereby providing your brighter and healthier-looking skin.


Ingredients -

  • 2 tsp potato juice

  • 2 tsp tomato juice /puree

  • 1-2 tsp honey

How to prepare -

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and then apply to your face.

  2. Let it partially dry and then reapply the remaining mixture once again on your face.

  3. Leave to dry completely, maybe around 20 mins.

  4. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

How often?

  • 3 times a week. If you have sensitive skin use it 2 times a week.


4) For Acne/ Pimple free skin -


Neem and tulsi both have got great anti-bacterial properties thus keeping the acne or pimples at bay. This helps you to achieve clear and blemish-free skin.


Ingredients -

  • 1 tsp neem powder

  • 1 tsp tulsi powder or freshly crushed leaves

  • 1-2 tsp rose water

  • 1-2 drops of tea tree oil

How to prepare -

  1. Mix the neem and tulsi powder or freshly crushed tulsi leaves with rose water. Make sure the consistency is not too runny.

  2. Now add 1-2 drops of tea tree oil and mix well.

  3. Apply it all over the face. You can also use it as a spot treatment on your acne and pimples.

  4. Let it sit for 15 mins until dry.

  5. Wet your face with some water and gently massage while removing the pack.

  6. Rinse it off with normal water.

How often?

  • Once or twice a week.


5) For Even Skin Tone -


Milk removes the dead skin cell and stimulates new cell growth while almonds which are rich in vitamin E nourishes and softens the skin.


Ingredients -

  • 1 tsp raw milk

  • 2 tsp potato juice

  • 2 teaspoon almond oil

How to prepare -

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and apply it on your face and neck.

  2. Let it sit for 15 mins and rinse with lukewarm water.

  3. You can also use this as a daily cleanser if it suits your skin well.

How often?

3 times a week or every alternate day will give the best results.



6) For Dry Skin -


Fuller's earth is an excellent remedy for all skin types. It has natural antiseptic properties and helps in absorbing dirt and impurities from your skin.


Ingredients -

  • 2 tsp Multani mitti ( fuller's earth)

  • 2 tsp raw milk

  • 1 tsp honey

  • ½ tsp lemon juice

How to prepare -

  1. Take a bowl and mix fuller’s earth with milk, honey, and lemon juice.

  2. Once you get a smooth consistency to apply it all over your face and neck.

  3. Let it sit for 20 min and then wash off with normal water.

How often?

  • Once a week.


7) All In One Solution -


Besan is a good acne fighter which also helps to remove blemishes and tan from your skin. It leaves your skin soft and supple with some glow.


Ingredients -

  • 2 tsp besan powder

  • ¼ tsp turmeric

  • 2 tsp milk/curd

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 vitamin E capsule.(optional)

How to prepare -

  1. Add besan, turmeric powder, honey, and lemon juice to a bowl.

  2. Now add curd ( if you have oily skin ) or milk ( if you have dry skin) to the mixture.

  3. Now you can add 1 vitamin E capsule oil to the mixture. This is completely optional. Skip it if you don’t prefer it.

  4. Mix all the ingredients well and apply the ubtan to your face.

  5. Let it sit for a good 20 mins and then rinse off will normal or lukewarm water.

How often?

  • Twice a week for the best results.


Face Packs for Women -


Women are always conscious about their skin. But using harsh chemical treatments and products have caused many people to face acne and other skin problems. Face masks can be a great remedy especially the homemade ones. Include one in your skincare routine and you will soon notice how your skin starts looking healthy and glowing.



1) For Dry Skin -


Bananas can give you well-nourished skin. It also smoothens the skin by moisturizing it. Best to get rid of the dry and flaky patches from your face.



Ingredients -

  • ½ mashed banana

  • 2 tsp yogurt / thick curd

  • 1 tsp honey

How to prepare -

  1. Add the mashed banana, yogurt, and honey in a bowl and mix until everything blends well.

  2. Apply the pack on your face and let it sit for 20 mins.

  3. Wash off with lukewarm water.

How Often?

  • Once a week is good enough. You can use it twice if you have super oily skin.


2) For Sensitive Skin -


If you have sensitive skin then aloe vera can help you the best. It soothes your skin and helps in moisturizing and removing dark blemishes from your face. It also has some anti-aging properties make your skin look youthful.


Ingredients -

  • 2 tsp Aloe Vera gel ( fresh would be best)

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp glycerin

How to prepare-

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to get a smooth consistency. If you have super sensitive skin then you can skip the lemon juice or reduce the quantity to ½ a spoon.

  2. Now apply the mixture to your face and neck.

  3. Let it sit for about 15-20 mins and then rinse with cold water.

How Often?

  • Once a week for best results.


3) For Glowing Skin -


Regular use of sandalwood will not only provide you glowing skin but can also remove tan, blemishes, acne, and restore moisture from your skin.


Ingredients -

  • 2 tsp sandalwood powder

  • 1 -2 tsp rose water

How to prepare -

  1. Mix the two ingredients to form a smooth paste.

  2. Apply the pack on your face and neck, leave it to dry.

  3. Wash off with normal/cold water.

How often?

  • 2-3 times a week for best results.


4) For Oily Skin -


Eggs can be the savior for most of your skin problems. It firms the skin, tightens your pores, and also helps in the generation of new skin cells.


Ingredients -

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 tsp almond powder

  • ½ tsp lemon juice ( optional)

How to prepare -

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and apply it all over your face.

  2. Let it dry completely.

  3. Now wet your face and start massaging to remove the dead skin cells.

  4. Wash off with lukewarm water.

How often?

  • Once a week is more than enough.


5) For Acne / Pimple Free Skin -


Neem, as you learned before is great for acne so as the turmeric which helps in providing glow and luster to your skin. It also fights against acne and pigmentation.


Ingredients-

  • 1 tsp Neem powder

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

  • ½ tsp lemon juice

How to use -

  1. Mix everything together in a bowl to form a smooth paste.

  2. Now apply it on your face and neck. You can also use this as a spot treatment on your acne-prone areas.

  3. Let it dry for 15 mins and then rinse off with cold water.

How often?

  • 2 times a week for great results.


Tip - You can even use cinnamon powder mixed with rose water/almond/coconut oil for treating your acne. If you have oily skin go with rose water else use either almond or coconut oil.



6) Exfoliating pack -


Oatmeals are natural face cleanser which helps in removing the dry dead skin cells. Hence it can also be used as a mild facial scrubber. The anti-inflammatory properties in it make it work best for acne-prone skin.



Ingredients-

  • 2 tsp oatmeal

  • 1 tbsp milk

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 tsp almond powder

How to use-

  1. You can just give one blend to powder the oats partially and then transfer it to a bowl. This step is optional. You can even use them directly without blending.

  2. Then add milk, honey, and almond powder and mix well.

  3. Apply it on your face and neck.

  4. Let it skin for 10-15 mins and then wet your face and start scrubbing gently.

  5. Once done rinse off with normal to lukewarm water.

How often -

  • Once a week for best results.


7) All in one Ubtan -


This is the very same pack I mentioned above for men. Follow the same process to get the radiant and clear glowing skin.


Note / Disclaimer -

Though all the ingredients are natural, I would still recommend you to do a patch test before using it on your face and neck. Every skin is different, and hence the reaction might also vary.


Tips to remember while using a face pack -


  1. Always cleanse your face before applying a face pack.

  2. Never overdo the process. Stick to the instructions.

  3. Never be harsh while scrubbing or removing the pack from your face.

  4. Do a patch test of (min 1/2 hr) on your palm or behind your ears to check out for allergies.

  5. Stop using any pack which seems to irritate your skin or causes breakouts.

  6. Always apply the pack both to your face and neck area.

  7. It’s always recommended to apply it at night before you go to bed as it’s when your skin absorbs the maximum nutrients and helps in giving the best results.

  8. Finish off with a good moisturizer.
