Today I have a recipe that I never ever thought I would post on my website. It’s the Bhindi Fry aka Fried lady’s finger recipe.
I always hated the lady's finger due to its stickiness. But one day my mom prepared it in a very different way and I couldn’t believe that it was made up of Bhindi. There was no stickiness and it tasted delicious.
I always love to have that recipe and last Sunday I tried out preparing it with a few add ons in the ingredients from my side. And trust me guys it turned out to be super tasty. This is such a quick and easy recipe that you can prepare it any time for any occasion. This goes pretty well with rice and roti.
So if you never liked any lady's finger dishes due to its stickiness then you need to definitely try this out !! Once you prepare it you are never gonna hate them again! Take my word.
Delicious Bhindi Fry Recipe At Home

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time : 20 minutes | Total Time : 30 minutes
Ingredients
For Preparing Bhindi Fry -
500 gm Lady’s finger ( julienne cut)
1-2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp mustard seed
1 dry red chilly
1 tbsp red chili powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
¼ tsp cumin powder
1 medium onion ( Finely chopped)
3-4 garlic cloves ( chopped)
1 chopped green chili
1 tsp vinegar
A handful of curry leaves
½ tsp sugar
Salt as per taste
How to prepare Bhindi Fry
Preparation of Bhindi Fry -
Wash the lady’s finger and place it on a towel and let it dry completely. Cut them into julienne pieces and keep aside to dry again.
Take a heavy-bottomed pan and heat 1-2 tbsp of coconut oil.
Once the oil becomes hot, add 1 dry red chili and a few mustard seeds and let it pop.
Then add a handful of curry leaves saute for a minute.
Next add the chopped onion, garlic, and green chili. Saute until the onions become translucent.
Now add some turmeric powder, red chili powder and saute till the raw smell goes.
Once the masalas are done, add the cut lady’s finger and mix it well.
Switch the flame to medium and fry them for 10 mins or until they change their color and become soft and dark.
At this point add some salt, sugar, and mix well. Saute for 2-3 mins.
Finally, add 1 tsp of vinegar and give it a good mix. Check for salt and add if required.
Switch off the flame and saute for 1 -2 minutes.
Leave it for 5 mins as it is. Then serve it as a side dish with some hot rice or with roti.

Tips To Get The Perfect Bhindi Fry -
Wash lady’s finger before cutting.
Pat dry with a towel to absorb all the moisture. Also after cutting, let it dry completely under a fan so as it removes any moisture content.
Always add salt only after they are completely cooked or fried.
